Get involved on campus!
Barnard students can learn and share with their peers through the many Columbia student organizations. The cultural clubs welcome all people to observe and partake in regular meetings and occasional events. Interacting with and finding peers who are equally as enthusiastic about a specific culture is a great way to hone language skills and engage and broaden one's perspectives on ritual and traditions. If there are any gaps in cultural clubs, students are encouraged to form new organizations to help further cultural awareness. The flora of Columbia University's cultural diversity is one to become involved in. A notable few include:
Cultural: Chinese Students Club, Columbia Korean Students Association, Hong Kong Students and Scholars Society, Columbia Japan Society, Singaporean Students Association, Taiwanese American Students Asociation, Vietnamese Students Association
Art/Dance: CU Generation, CU China Dance, CU Wushu, Columbia University Lion Dance Troupe
Other: Falun Dafa at Columbia University
Cultural: Hindu Students Association, Liga Filipina, Association of Indonesian Students at Columbia University
Cultural: Organization of Pakistani Students, Columbia Turkish Students Association, Columbia Iranian Students Association, Columbia Barnard Hillel, Armenian Society of Columbia University
Art/Dance: CU Bellydance
All Columbia student groups are inclusive. The events are culturally themed but always welcome to any students who are respectful and receptive.
